The story of Roarbie is absolutely wonderful! As a home-base & clinical behavior therapist, many of my families have experienced struggles with introducing their child to new environments. This short story does a great job explaining the emotional journey many children face exiting their comfort zone and adventuring out to new and exciting places. The sentence structure and characters are both rhythmic and relatable for the enjoyment of children of all ages, education levels, backgrounds & novel responses! This book is perfect to celebrate and incentivize new beginnings. In this book we follow a lion who is afraid to leave the house. A good metaphor for life changes (like going to school for the first time) or just taking up a single task trying a new activity or food. There can be many reasons why we don't adventure outside, towards a novelty or even experiment with something new, but Roarbie shows us that things are expecting us out there, you learn and discover. Yes, it can be scary but taking a chance on something new can be exciting and open up a great world of knowledge and community. I love that the characters and font have a great size that shows well. The book has lots of pages and the story is uplifting. It inspires us to try something new today.
